Sam Beres has grown his entertainment channel Sambucha to more than 8 million subscribers. Like other successful Creators, he’s always looking for new ways to grow and bring content to his audience that will keep them engaged in longer viewing sessions. An important part of that process is ideation. To that end, Sam was looking for help brainstorming ideas that he could bring to life on his channel.
In early 2024, Sam started experimenting with Spotter Studio – specifically Outliers and Brainstorm – as a regular part of his pre-production workflow. He used Spotter Studio multiple times a week, either starting off with a partially developed idea or looking for an entirely new one. Sam was able to seamlessly incorporate Spotter Studio into his research and ideation process.
Sam used Brainstorm to generate video concepts, titles, and thumbnails from start to finish. These ideas are personalized to his channel and style, and pulled based on a mix of his successful videos and trending videos from channels his audience also watches. Sam typically generated about 200 ideas per session, enabling him to brainstorm and find standout ideas in a shorter amount of time compared to the time it takes to ideate without using Spotter Studio.
Compared to all other uploads on his channel, Sam’s videos with ideas generated from Spotter Studio had a 13% proportionally higher video click-through rate (CTR), more than double the views, and nearly double the impressions.
Furthermore, Sam developed an entirely new content format for his channel, Sambucha, from a single idea generated by Spotter Studio. That idea led to the video, “I Let YouTube Autoplay 1000 Videos Straight,” which became a top performer. This inspired new videos along the same lines, resulting in a new content pillar with several overperforming videos, such as “I Tried Scrolling to the Bottom of YouTube Shorts,” and he’s excited to keep creating similar content.
